Practical learning that integrates Information Science and Data Science
In data science, interpret the world through data to gain new ideas. In information science, give shape to those ideas as systems and services.By learning both academic disciplines in an integrated manner, become human resources who truly contribute to the society of the future.
The Data Science (DS) Course teaches the theories and methodologies to discover new insights from a massive amount of data by making full use of computers, and to apply those insights for the benefit of society.
The Information Science (IS) Course pursues the clarification of the mechanisms of intelligent information processing, which were believed to be unique to humans, and aims to realize them artificially.
In order to utilize AI, whose demand is expected to continue to grow, not only knowledge of data science such as mathematical statistics is required, but also expertise in areas such as application and system development, as well as IoT.At the School of Information and Data Sciences, we aim to cultivate practical professionals who can fully utilize data science in the real world by designing a curriculum that allows students to learn both DS and IS knowledge and skills.
