Research activities

Media art and its production technology
There are various forms of art such as architecture, sculpture, painting, music, etc. At the beginning of the 20th century, the development of technology (mechanical, chemical, optical, etc.) gave birth to a new art called cinema. And in the 21st century, “media art” is being born with information technology. We are opening up a new discipline of media art and engineering, from the production and exhibition of media art to the development and commercialization of its fundamental technology.

 Building Digital World Heritage
Culture is as indispensable as life or the environment, and the protection of culture is a national duty at the same level as national defense. We have used information technology and drone technology to digitally protect and scientifically analyze the World Heritage Sites including the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx in Egypt. We also have been conducting research on the conservation of historical churches that are still alive today in Nagasaki.
