The curriculum of the School of Information and Data Sciences is composed of common courses and courses for two programs, the Information Science Program (IS) and Data Science Program (DS). In their first year, all students build a firm foundation with essential mathematics, information science, and communication classes. At the end of their first year, students choose their program of specialization (IS or DS) and take the required courses set by each program.
With the exception of a portion of the School of Information and Data Sciences’ curriculum, students may take elective courses regardless of their chosen program so they can individually acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for their desired goals and future.
